Celebrated Rabindra Sangeet exponent Sraboni Sen has one time regret of not cutting an album of Jagjit Singh’s ghazals.
“I had sung several ghazals for a record company but the album never saw light of the day. Jagjitji’s ghazals remain a matter of love for me,” Sraboni said.
She was speaking at a chat session after launch of a Bengali song album ‘Alokrekha’.
Popular Bangla band singer and director of widely acclaimed ‘Open Tee Bioscope’ Anindyo Chatterjee suggested Sraboni Sen upload the video of her live performance of Jagjit’s ghazal numbers on YouTube as the first step before unveiling the album as the labour of her love.
Anindya was also present at the chat session in a lounge themed on Bengali nonsense rhyme creator Sukumar Roy.
“This was our first session. We would love to host many others to ignite the creative sparks of Bengalees,” the director of Hanglaatherium engineer-turned-entrepreneur Avijit Majumder said.
