Delhi:

Vivek Oberoi made his Bollywood debut with Ram Gopal Verma’s Company in 2002 and went on to feature in super-hit films like Saathiya, Omkara and Yuva. He gained a lot of appreciation and critical acclaim due to his versatility and solid acting chops. His hit films, however, were followed by a dull period in his career with movies like Kyun...! Ho Gaya Na, Kisna, Kurbaan, and Prince.

In 2013, Vivek starred in two back to back films – Grand Masti and Krrish 3. Both the films were a commercial success and Vivek received a lot of adulation for his spectacular performance and acting skills. He even got nominated for Filmfare Best Supporting Actor for his terrific role as Kaal in Krissh 3. Bollywood fans and moviegoers were convinced that Vivek Oberoi is one of the best actors that we can have in the industry. But, unfortunately, we didn’t guess it right.

After a slew of bad choices and the career-ruining ‘panga’ with Salman Khan, Vivek could never live up to his potential and came nowhere close to the success that many of his fans envisioned for him. Now, after a gap of almost 2 years, Vivek is back again to Bollywood with his upcoming film. He is roped in to play Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the latter's biopic, titled PM Narendra Modi. The film, to be directed by Omung Kumar who has previously helmed hit biographical dramas like Sarabjit and Mary Kom, will go on floors in mid-January. The film’s first poster will be launched on January 7, according to film trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

The real question is – considering the bad movie choices that Vivek has made in the past – will he be able to meet the expectations of his fans this time? Is he the right choice to play PM Modi? With the extended chain of flops to his name, Vivek’s career graph isn't looking too promising at the moment. Well, we can’t say anything right now, but we can just hope for the best.
