Kangana Ranaut comes out in support of Priyanka Chopra (File photo)
Frustrated after repeated failure on multiple fronts to secure support to its efforts against India’s Kashmir move, Pakistan have approached the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF), seeking to remove Indian actress Priyanka Chopra as the UN 'Goodwill Ambassador' on the pretext of a past tweet she did to celebrate the Indian army’s attack on Pakistan.
Not many from the Bollywood film industry came out in support of the star, until now, actress Kangana Ranaut has come out in support of her peer.
Defending her views over the controversy while admitting that is “not an easy choice.”, Kangana said in an interaction with ANI, "when you are stuck between your duty and your emotions, being a UNICEF goodwill ambassador sure you can’t limit your identity to one nation, but how many of us choose heart over mind every day."
Priyanka and Kangana have shared screen space in Madhur Bhandarkar's movie Fashion. The actress duo has always had each others back and wished them for their accomplishments.
Currently, Kangana is working on films like Dhaakad, directed by Razneesh Razy Ghai, and Panga, co-starring Jassie Gill, alongside Richa Chadha.
For the uninitiated, Pakistan Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari in a letter to UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore, alleged that Priyanka Chopra has “supported” the Indian government’s stand on Kashmir and “nuclear threat” issued to Islamabad by India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
