After playing a kabaddi player in Panga, Kangana Ranaut is all set to portray an Air Force Pilot in her next titled Tejas. It is being produced by Ronnie Screwvala and being directed by Sarvesh Mewara. Kangana confirmed the news, saying, ''I’ve always wanted to play a soldier and have been fascinated with the Armed Forces since childhood. I’ve never held back my emotions for our jawans and spoken openly about how strongly I feel about their heroism. They keep our country secure and our people safe. So, I’m very happy to be doing this film.''
The actress will undergo extensive training before beginning the shoot for the film in July. ''I will undergo intense training before the shoot starts. My director has decided to get professional trainers on board,'' said Kangana, who signed the film just two weeks ago. ''Right now, I’m too deep into Thalaivi (the biopic of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa). After that, we’ll get to Tejas, which we will start this year itself,'' she added.
The actress asserted that it is high time people acknowledge the significant contribution of women in the armed forces. Talking about the film, Kangana said that she is happy to collaborate with Ronnie Screwvala and director Sarvesh Mewara who have come up with an extraordinary script to celebrate the heroism of our soldiers.
Meanwhile, Kangana's latest film, Panga hit the screens today and opened to rave reviews by the audience and fans. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari revealed that Kangana had to put on a few kgs for her role in Panga. ''Kangana had to put on some weight, but her body type is such that it doesn’t look extra on her. She immediately lost the kilos, but has put them back for her next. I don’t know how she does it over and over; I have difficulty losing even once.''
The film also stars Jassie Gill, Richa Chadha and Jassie Gill in pivotal roles.
