Karan Johar will host the grand inaugural ceremony of the 50th edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI)

Karan Johar too shared the news on his handle and said, “IFFI is going to be special this year with its 50th edition taking place. I am happy and honoured to host the opening ceremony. What better place than a platform that celebrates cinema!”

The upcoming event in Goa will be inaugurated by Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, informed Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar last week.
The event will be held from November 20 to 28 and over 200 foreign films will be screened that includes 50 films on the race for Academy Awards this year.
The festival will also showcase 50 films of 50 women directors. The film festival will be paying tribute to the lost form of silent film viewing in a specially curated section where three movies by master filmmakers Alfred Hitchcock, Sergei M Eisenstein and GW Pabst will be screened.
