Nawazuddin Siddiqui is taking a turn from dark brooding roles and trying his hands-on light comedies and romances. The actor who let your goosebumps grow with his intense portrayal of Ganesh Gaitonde in Sacred Games, is all set to make you roll on the floor as Pushpender, in Motichoor Chaknachoor.
Nawaz will romance Athiya Shetty in the situation comedy, who was last seen in Mubarakan, co-starring Arjun Kapor and Anil Kapoor. The trailer opens with a 36 year old Nawaz as Pushpender who is in lookout of potential matches and his neighbour Anita who wants to get married to NRI and find a future overseas.
A well-planned misunderstanding leads Anita and her maasi to believe that Pushpender has a fat paying job in Dubai. They resort to wooing him.
Pushpender, however, is jobless, but he conveniently hides the truth to get married to Anita. All hell breaks loose when Anita finds out her now-husband Pushpender was sacked from Dubai job long back.
A couple of days ago, Bombay High Court had ordered a stay on the release of the trailer of Motichoor Chaknachoor. TThis was due to a commercial arbitration petition, filed by Debamitra Biswal, writer and director of Motichoor Chaknachoor, over non-payment of dues by the makers of the film Woodpecker Movies Private Limited. The stay, however, was soon lifted, post which, the trailer was released.
Motichoor Chaknachoor is set to release on November 15, this year.
