Singer Neeti Mohan and Nihar Pandya, who got hitched on February 15 in Hyderabad, have postponed their wedding reception. Reason? According to a report in Spotboye, Neeti’s father is seriously ill and has been admitted into the ICU of a Hyderabad hospital and continues to be under observation. The couple was all set to host a lavish wedding reception at Hyderabad’s Four Seasons hotel.
Reportedly, the who’s who of Bollywood were expected to attend the function. The reports further state, the couple informed all the invitees, via a text message, that owing to ''unforeseen medical circumstances in the family'' they had postponed the event ''indefinitely''. The report went on to say that Sharma senior had been unwell for a while. Quoting bride’s sister, dancer Mukti Mohan, the report wrote, ''Dad cannot take too much physical stress, so we had kept him in the hotel room. He was not to be seen at the mandap and people freaked out. We had called the doctors to the hotel room and they suggested that he should be shifted to the hospital.â€
Mukti also revealed that her father had been part of the mehendi celebration, but he was not able to attend the wedding function. ''Actually, a year and a half ago, Dad had become very serious owing to some exertion. Since then, we have been very careful when it comes to any hectic schedule,'' she said.Â
Talking about his relationship with Neeti, Nihar had earlier told a leading daily, ''A friend of mine was a member of Aasma, the band that Neeti was a part of at the beginning of her career. I asked him several times to introduce us but that never happened. Coincidentally, I met her in Goa at the same friend’s wedding almost a year ago, and that’s when our love story started.''
Neeti is well-known for crooning songs like Jiya Re, Ishq Wala Love, Nainowale Ne among many others. Nihar, on the other hand, has switched from modelling to acting. He was a part of Manikarnika, which hit the screens on January 25.
