Mumbai:

The makers of Akshay Kumar-starrer 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again' have pushed the release date of their film to August 15, primarily to avoid clash with Shah Rukh Khan's 'Chennai Express' releasing on August 8.

The crime gangster film directed by Milan Luthria and produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor was supposed to hit the screens on the occasion of Eid falling on August 8.

'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again' (OUATMA) will now release on the Independence Day. It was Shah Rukh who spoke to veteran actor Jeetendra and a meeting was held between him, UTV (producers of 'ChennaiExpress') and SRK to push the release date of OUATMA.

"Keeping in mind that both weekends (8th August and 15thAugust) are good times for film releases, Jeetendra sir, being the senior most, showed the path.

He took the decision to movethe film to August 15. This is extremely graceful of him," Shah Rukh said in a statement here. "UTV, Rohit Shetty (director) and I are very happy withthe decision made and we thank Jeetu sir and Balaji Motion Pictures for the same.

This should pave the way for suchmature and sensible amicable understandings whenever two films release on the same day in future too," the actor said.

Ekta Kapoor too is happy with the development. "My father and Shah Rukh spoke and have clearly workedout what is best for both the films.

Both are big and keenly awaited films and should not be made to eat into each other'sbusiness...I have huge respect for SRK and wish him the best,"Ekta Kapoor said.
