Jaipur:

Rajasthan government today said action would be taken against the filmmaker of ‘Dirty Politics’ for shooting in the state and filming the Vidhan Sabha building and its gate, without prior permission from authorities.

State Parliamentary Affairs Minister R S Rathore informed the Assembly that the Chief Secretary has been asked to take action against the filmmaker for not taking permission from the collector or police commissioner here, to shoot the movie in the state, especially the Vidhan Sabha building from outside.

Rathore was replying to a reminder by BJP MLA Ramlal Sharma during the Zero Hour that he had raised the issue on March 10 and had been assured of action by the BJP-led government.

Rathore said the filmmaker did not follow rules of Rajasthan Film Shooting Act, National Emblem Act and Name Act before shooting the movie which hurt the image and prestige of Vidhan Sabha and added it not only caused embarrassement but also brought down dignity.

Quoting Acts, the minister said no one can shoot Vidhan Sabha, the Supreme Court, the High Court or Parliament without obtaining prior permission and hurt the dignity of the official emblems.

The minister said after the issue was raised by Sharma, government made enquiries from Jaipur Collector and Police Commissioner who informed them that the filmmaker had not sought any permission from competent authorities.

‘Dirty Politics’, a Hindi movie, written and directed by KC Bokadia and starring Mallika Sherawat, is loosely based on the Bhanwari Devi case in which a former Congress Minister and MLA were in jail and facing court trial in Jodhpur.
