When it comes to versatility, Rajkummar Rao has been stealing the top spot in the acting spectrum. From being an indifferent groom to a psychopath to even going nude, the Made in China star has given us some of the most memorable roles in the big screen. With an acting job on the climb, his role for movies have demanded him to go to extremes, but how does his parents react when the cameras are off and a different persona comes on to the big screen?
Interacting with Neha Dhupia on Filter Neha season 4, the actor revealed how his parents reacted to not only seeing his son on the big screens but also ‘nude’ on the big screens. Describing his big break in 2010 Dibakar Banerjee’s Love Sex Aur Dhokha as “one of the happiest moments of my life”, the actor reveals ‘you know, there is a scene where you have to be fully naked in the scene’. It took me seconds to just understand, and then I said, ‘yeah it’s fine, it’s my job’. I said, anything for my part. But I knew that I would now have to tell my parents and my family!”.
Adding that his parents were completely cool on seeing his soon as he was born, meaning nude, the actor adds, “They (the actor’s parents) were cool. I just told them, I didn’t even ask. I just told them, ‘there is this film I got’, and they were very happy. And then, ‘you know, in the last scene I might be naked’. They were like, ‘What!’ I said mujhe nanga hona padega shayad! I told them, ‘(I’ll be required to expose) only back, only back... no frontal nudity’. They were okay with it, never discussed this point,” added Rajkummar.
As for his role in the big screens, the actor recently had his film, ‘Made In China’, by Mikhil Musale released that also starred Mouni Roy, Boman Irani, and Sumeet Vyas.
