Bollywood filmmakers has been bitten by the remake bug. After films like Agneepath, Don made fair business at the box office, directors are now shifting their focus to cult comedy films. As Pati Patni Aur Woh gears up for release, Rajkummar Rao is all set to step into the shoes of Dharmendra for Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s classic comedy Chupke Chupke.

After much brainstorming on the title of the remake, the makers, producers Bhushan Kumar and Luv Ranjan have bagged the rights to the original title. The film will be named after the original Amitabh Bachchan-starrer itself.

"After the makers realised that they do not have the rights to the title of the film Bhushan’s company approached Manish Goswami who had the rights and he immediately issued a No Objection letter to the Film and Television Producers Guild of India as he didn’t have a suitable script ready,” a source told Mumbai mirror.

Talking about working up the film, Rajkummar had said in April, “It’s a big responsibility to step into his (Dharmendra’s) shoes. The scripting is underway now. We know that we can’t match Hrishida’s standard, but we will try to put our best foot forward.” The 80s film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore, Jaya Bachcha, Om Prakash among others.

Chupke Chupke is again the remake of the Bengali film Chhadmabeshi, it was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, based on Upendranath Ganguly's Bengali story Chhadobeshi with the dialogue penned by Gulzar. The rest of the cast for the remake is yet to finalised.

Dharmendra essayed the role of botany professor Parimal Tripathi who takes upon the person of Pyaare, a crazy driver who is obsessed with purity of language.
