Ritu Nanda, elder daughter of legendary actor Raj Kapoor and mother-in-law of Shweta Nanda, daughter to Amitabh Bachchan passed away recently. She was aged 71 and was suffering from cancer.

Amitabh Bachchan took to his blog to inform and wrote: "My ‘samdhan’ Ritu Nanda, Shweta’s Mother in Law passed away suddenly at 1.15 Am .. cannot communicate .. travelling."
Rishi-Neetu Kapoor's daughter & Ranbir Kapoor's sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni took to her social media account to mourn the death of her 'bua' Ritu Nanda with a heartfelt message.
Riddhima posted a picture of Ritu Nanda on Instagram and wrote, "To the kindest most gentle person I‘ve ever met - They don’t make them like you anymore - RIP bua #missyoualwaysâ¤ï¸Â"

Ritu Nanda married Escorts group Chairman Rajan Nanda, who passed away in 2018. Ritu Nanda herself was an entrepreneur associated with the life insurance business. Nanda entered the Guinness Book of Records for selling 17,000 pension policies in a single day. She also managed companies like Escolife and Rimari Corporate art services. Shweta Bachchan is married to their son Nikhil Nanda.
Her last rites will be performed at 1.30 pm at Lodhi Road cremation ground in Delhi.Â
