It has been four days since Ajay Devgn’s father Veeru Devgan passed away at the age of 85, but still his fans could not believe that he is no more. Veeru Devgan, who was an action choreographer, passed away in Mumbai on May 27. On the day, Veeru Devgan complained of breathlessness and was rushed to Surya hospital, Santacruz where he succumbed to cardiac arrest. Bollywood celebs paid tribute to him and offered their condolences to Devgan’s family. And now, Rohit Shetty has paid tribute to late Veeru Devgan.
In an Instagram post, Rohit Shetty said, “It takes real fathers to transform their boys into heroes. Started doing stunts at the age of 16, still going strong at 45. And I know one man who will always be proud of me in Heaven. My Guru, My Father – Veeru Devgan.â€

Along with the post, Rohit shared a video of himself performing a stunt on a motorbike. However, he urged his fans to not try the same. The video was shot on location in Bangkok where Rohit is shooting Sooryavanshi.
Veeru Devgan had directed actions, fights and stunts for some of the top actors Dilip Kumar, Rajendra Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna, Anil Kapoor and others, said Tina Films Associate Director Ramya V. Iyer. His important action sequences were in films like Inkaar (1977), Mr Natwarlal (1979), Kranti (1981), Himmatwala (1983), Mr. India (1987), Shahenshah (1988), Tridev (1989), Baap Numbri Beta Dus Numbri (1990), Phool Aur Kaante (1991), Dilwale (1994) and Laal Badshah (1999), in which Bachchan played a double role.
He also donned the hat of a director for the film - Hindustan Ki Kasam (1999) starring Amitabh Bachchan and son Ajay and actress Manisha Koirala and Sushmita Sen.
Veeru, who hailed from Punjab’s Amritsar, ran away from his home to become an actor in Bollywood films. However, he became a stuntman and later an ace action choreographer. Â
