Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan completed 28 years of marriage and on the recently streamed David Letterman's talk show, the actor has let out everything that went into impressing Gauri Khan or getting back to her after she moved to Mumbai.
During the episode, SRK and David Letterman covered all the aspects of the actor's life including how after a desperate hunt through the entire city, he found Gauri in a city full of beaches.
When the show's host, asked SRK if he actually tried finding her on the beach, the actor explained the entire incident.
SRK recalled that the only piece of information that he had about Gauri Khan was that he knew that she loved swimming and a young SRK not having much knowledge about the geography of the city, thought that Mumbai has only one beach, that which appears on movies with floodlights all through the beach.
Shah Rukh, during the episode, recalled the incident and told David Letterman, "When I landed in Mumbai, I started looking for her on beaches. I asked an auto driver to take me to as many beaches at he can with the mere Rs. 400 I had in my pocket and then drop me after the meter strikes 400.”
After running a through hunt through beaches and almost getting to his ‘C ‘ gang;s nerves whom he took along with him heartbroken when they were leaving, he heard a voice and on turning over he saw Gauri coming with open arms in a bikini and asked him, "What are you doing here?’
A part of the conversation took place at SRK’s dinning area in Mannat where Gauri revealed how SRK was extremely ‘possessive’ about her and she wanted to take a break by visiting Mumbai. She further went on to reveal how Shah Rukh’s charm spelt wonders on her mother and now she loves him!
Gauri Khan and SRK celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary on Friday. The actor shared a picture along with Gauri on Twitter and he wrote: "Feels like forever, seems like yesterday....Nearly three decades and dearly three kids old. Beyond all fairy tales I tell, I believe this one, I have got as beautiful as beautiful can be."
Mr Letterman who has hosted Former US President Barack Obama, actor George Clooney and Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai, among many other big names on his show was moved by the kind of stardom the ‘Badshah’ of Bollywood enjoys. He even said, “You receive reaction to every breath you take’ to which the hall broke in applause.
