Shahid Kapoor recently hit a gold at the box office after his recent release Padmaavat entered the coveted Rs 100 crore club. The actor, who was seen playing the role of Maharawal Ratan, is quite overwhelmed with the response Padmaavat has garnered from the audience and the critics.
While Shahid has been receiving accolades for his performance in the movie, he has recently revealed the real reason for signing Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus.
Talking about the same Sasha was quoted as saying, "There are some films that are very close to your heart and then there are some films which you have to experience with other people. I did this character of Ratan Singh for people because I wanted people to know more about him, about his valor and his sacrifices."
Well, Shahid has indeed done complete justice to his role of Rajput king. Padmaavat also featured Deepika Padukone in the role of Queen Padmavati and Ranveer Singh as Allauddin Khilji.
The movie is minting crores at the box office and is expected to make earth-shattering numbers. It will be interesting to see how much Padmaavat will rake in as its lifetime business.
