The movie is nearing the Rs 300 crore club and has become one of the highest grosser beating Salman Khan's Bharat by a wide margin. As the success saga continued the tinsel town was buzz with rumours that Shahid has hiked the fees to a heft amount. The news appeared to be quite believable because who wouldn't want to make use of this demand in the industry? even Kangana quotes a fee of rs 24 crore for Jayalalitha biopic even when Manikarnika fared averagely at box office.
A leading daily recently quoted a source stating Shahid has hiked his fee to about Rs 35-40 crore post the success of Kabir Singh and that he's already on the verge of locking this figure with his next project, a remake of Telugu hit Jersey starring Nani and Shraddha Srinath.
However, when Shahid was asked to comment on the same in his latest interview, he laughed it off saying, "I have to sign a film to receive any money. I think the only people who are making money are Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani. I have exactly the same bank balance I had before Kabir Singh, I have to sign another project before I get paid”
Well, Shahid certainly has remained ambiguous about his new fees but has made it clear that he has signed no films so far.
