New Delhi:

After taking a break of almost two years, Hrithik Roshan has returned to the silver screen with yet another powerful performance in Vikas Bahl’s Super 30. The film is based on the life of Patna-based mathematician Anand Kumar, who teaches underprivileged kids for free and helps them crack the IIT entrance exam. The film is off to a decent start at the box-office.

According to early estimates reported by Boxofficeindia.com, the film collected around Rs 11-11.50 crore on its first day. The collections are higher than Hrithik’s last film, Kaabil (2017) with opening collections of around Rs 10.43 crore.

The film got rave reviews from Bollywood celebrities such as Farah Khan, Karan Johar and many others. Super 30 release was delayed due to two major reasons.  First, the film’s director Vikas Bahl was accused of sexually assaulting a colleague, and then to avoid clashing at the box office with Kangana Ranaut’s film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and then Mental Hai Kya. The makers finally decided to release the film before Mental Hai Kya on July 12.

Recently talking about the same, in an interview to Hindustan Times, Hrithik said, "I have come to realise that bullies have to be treated with a certain amount of patience, and not be engaged with. It is upon the civil society and those who claim to be just and fair to see and observe if there is harassment. Also, being who I am, if I choose to confront as per laws, I become the aggressor. If I withdraw from a film-clash that I know has been pre designed, then I become a weakling penning a sob story. I have learned to not get affected by either."

Produced by Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films, Super 30 also stars Mrunal Thakur, Pankaj Tripathi, Amit Sadh and Nandish Sandhu.
