Om Raut’s historical drama Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is the first big Bollywood release of 20020 apart from Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak and the movie has already entered Rs 200 crore in three weeks. Ajay Devgn took to his Instagram to thank his fans for helping him smash the Rs 200-crore milestone. “Marching towards glory with all your love! Thank you for making #TanhajiTheUnsungWarrior a blockbuster hit of 2020! #TanhajiUnitesIndia,” the actor wrote, sharing a poster of the film with ‘crosses 200 crores’ written on it. Congratulatory messages poured in from fans, who lauded the film in the comments section of the post.
Despite the release of two big Bollywood films – Varun Dhawan starrer Street Dancer 3D and Kangana Rananut starrer Panga – the period drama holds its ground at the box office and earned Rs 5.38 crore, taking its total domestic collection so far to Rs 202.83 crore

Tanhaji: the Unsung Warrior with Rs 16 crore on day one stands at third position for Devgn’s career’s best openers. The movie crossed Rs 50 crore benchmark in three days, Rs.100 crore in 6 days and Rs 200 crore in 15 days time. The movie is in its way to becoming Devgn’s highest grosser film. A Box Office India report says ‘Golmaal Again’ grosses more than Rs 200 crore in 2017.
Meanwhile the Maharashtra government has made the movie tax-free in the state.
Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior tells the story of brave Maratha general Tanaji Malusare (played by Ajay) and the Battle of Sinhagad. Directed by Om Raut, Tanhaji also stars Saif Ali Khan and Kajol together after a long time.
