Veteran Telugu actor Gundu Hanumantha Rao breathed his last on Monday at his residence in Hyderabad. The actor was fondly known for his role in Amrutham and Pellaniki Premalekha Priyuraliki Subhalekha. He was 61.
According to a report in News Minute, the actor was suffering from kidney and heart-related ailments and was undergoing a treatment for the same. The Kalyanam actor is survived by his son.
It is being reported that his family was unable to bear the medical expenses and the state government and superstar Chiranjeevi stepped in to take care of the financial aspect.
Telugu actor and media personality Nani took to Twitter to express his grief and mourn the death of Hanumantha Rao.

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao also expressed his condolences on the demise of the comedian.

The evergreen actor had a star-studded career with over 600 Telugu movies and three Nandi TV Awards to his credit. Not many know that he was a well-known stage drama artist before he stepped foot in Telugu cinema.
According to reports, his final rites will take place at the Erragadda Burial Ground in Hyderabad's Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar.
Gundu Hanumantha Rao may have left for his heavenly abode but he will always remain in the hearts of the fans.Â
