Parineeti Chopra has started the shoot for the official remake of the 2016 thriller, The Girl On The Train featuring Emily Blunt. Although the actress is yet to share the first look of the film, the internet is buzzing with on-location pictures and BTS videos.
In a recent upload by one of her fan pages, Parineeti is seen in a severely bruised condition reminiscing her past in a bathtub. From her expression, it is evident that she is shell shocked on uncovering some bitter truths.
Parineeti's character in the thriller is that of an alcoholic divorcee and is much layered, a territory unexplored by the actress till date. The Hollywood movie tells the story of an alcoholic woman who gets obsessed with a stranger so much so that when she goes missing, she gets involved in the investigation only to realize that the stranger is connected to her past.
The role was originally played by Emily Blunt, who received critical acclaim for her performance in the 2016 film. Parineeti said the viewers will see her in a different avatar with this film.
"I want to do roles that audiences haven't seen me in before and ones that require a lot of prep and homework, which is why 'The Girl On The Train' really worked for me. The character is an alcoholic and a victim of abuse, and I haven't explored anything like her on screen before," she earlier said in a statement.
Set in the UK, the film will also feature Kriti Kulhari, Aditi Rao Hydari and Avinash Tiwari. the film directed by newcomer Ribhu Dasgupta is eyeing a 2020 release.
