Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer 'Tiger Zinda Hai' which is happened to be one of the much-anticipated movies of the year, has reportedly been banned in Pakistan.
According to reports, the spy thriller will not release in Pakistan after it failed to obtain a clearance from the country's Central Board of Film Censors.
Geo Films, which has the distribution rights for the film in Pakistan, had started publishing the release of the film with the note 'subject to censor clearance' but its release on December 22 is unlikely now.
In the film there are several scenes of hitting at Pakistan's security agencies and hence problematic for public screening in Pakistan.
Sources said the Ministry of Information, Broadcasting, National History and Literary Heritage has refused to grant a No-Objection Certificate for the film upon CBFC's recommendation.
Talking about the same, chairman of the Central Board of Film Censor (CBFC) Mobasher Hasan said, "Tiger Zinda Hai has been refused the NOC, citing the same reason as the first installment of the franchise: The image of Pakistan and its law enforcement agencies has been compromised," reported The Express Tribune.

Pakistan-related scenes are reportedly the basis for the film's non-clearance.
Previously, the first part 'Ek Tha Tiger' was also banned from screening in Pakistan back in 2012.
'Ek Tha Tiger' too had "several themes referring to Pakistan’s agencies, which were deemed problematic; thus, leading to the ban of the film," vice-chairman of country's CBFC Muhammed Ashraf Gondal stated further.
In the spy thriller, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Salman plays the role of a Raw agent who falls in love with Pakistani spy Zoya (Katrina) and together they team up to fight against terrorists.
