New Delhi:
The makers of Akshay Kumar- starrer Toilet Ek Prem Katha have landed in trouble for having a scene in the movie which allegedly wrongly depicts the local traditions of Mathura.
Locals and religious leaders have been demanding action and also objected to movies title. A Mahapanchayat was held in Barsana village in Mathura on Monday in which Brijbhumi saints and locals demanded that a scene in the movie be deleted.
Locals call the scene against their tradition which shows marriage between boys and girls from the twin villages of Nandgaon and Barsana.
Pradhans of about 22 villages nearby Barsana had passed a resolution demanding removal of marriage scene.
Taking their demand further, a delegation of saints, pradhans and community members would meet the district magistrate and demand removal of the scene and changing the movies title, reportedly.
Toilet Ek Prem Katha is a comedy genre based on PM Modi’s Swacch Bharat Campaign. The storyline is based on unhygienic conditions in rural India.
