We witnessed a lot of break-ups happening in tinselvile this year. It was indeedd quite disheartening to see some of the famous celeb couples parting ways. But looks like this didn’t dampened the spirit of love birds of tinselvile, who were unfazed with the break-up phase going on in the industry.
In fact, several celeb couples decided to take their relationship to a next level and chose to enter the nuptial bond.
While most of the celebs opted for a grand and lavish ceremony some took the vows secretly in a private ceremony.
But be it a grand celebration or a private ceremony, all these celeb weddings did make to the headlines.
So here we bring you a list of celeb couples who made a new start of their lives this year:
Kabir Bedi-Parveen Dusanjh: Veteran actor Kabir Bedi, who celebrated his 70th birthday early this year, suprised the world whene he announced his fourth wedding. Kabir got married to his long-time girlfriend Parveen Dusanjh on his birthday on January 16. Interestingly, Parveen is 28 years younger to Kabir.
Asin-Rahul Sharma: Bollywood actress Asin took the vows with Micromax CEO Rahul Sharma on January 19 in national captial. The couple got married in twin ceremonies given that both Asin and Rahul hail from different cultural backgrounds. They had a Christian wedding in the day followed by a Hindu wedding in the evening. Both the weddings were a grand affair and was attended by a their close friends and families. Asin and Rahul had also hosted a lavish reception as well which was attended by several B-town big-wigs.
Sanaya Irani-Mohit Sehgal: Television couple Sanaya Irani and Mohit Sehgal who have been dating each other for a while now, got hitched on January 25. It was a grand destination wedding as the couple took their saat-pheras on the beach side in Goa. Mohit-Sanaya’s wedding was attended by several renowned celebs from the television industry.
Urmila Matondkar-Mir Mohsin Akhtar: Actress Urmila Matondkar became a gorgeos bride as she married her beau Mir Mohsin Akhtar, a Kashimiri businessman, on March 3 this year. It was a low key affair. Interestingly, it was love at first sight for Mohsin who met Urmila, who is ten years elder to him, at the wedding of designer Manish Malhotra’s niece, Riddhi Malhotra in 2014.
Bipasha Basu-Karan Singh Grover: Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu got hitched with actor Karan Singh Grover on April 30, 2016. The couple, who was dating each other for around two year, went for a Bengali wedding given that Bipasha Basu is Bong beauty, followed by a grand wedding reception in the evening. Bipasha-Karan's wedding celebrations were a grand affair and was attended by bigwigs of B-town.
Preity Zinta-Gene Goodenough: Bollywood’s dimple girl Preity Zinta who was dating her US based boyfriend Gene Goodenough for over 18 months, took the vows with him on February 29. The wedding took place in Los Angeles and was attended by close friends and family. Preity and Gene later hosted a grand wedding reception in Mumbai for their friends from the film fraternity.
Amrita Rao-RJ Anmol: Actress Amrita Rao, who has maintained a low profile on both personal and professional life, married her long-time beau RJ Anmol on May 15. The couple had met during an interview and dated each other for seven years. Amrita's wedding was a hush-hush affair and not much details were revealed about Amrita's big day. In fact, the news was announced just a few days before the wedding.
Arya Babbar-Jasmine Puri: Veteran actor Raj Babbar’s son Arya Babbar married his long-time girlfriend, Jasmine Puri in a private ceremony on February 22, 2016 in Mumbai. The wedding took place in a Gurudwara and was attende by couple’s close friends and family members.
Divyanka Tripathi-Vivek Dahiya: Television actress Divyana Tripathi's wedding with Vivek Dahiya was the one of the biggest event of the year. The couple got hitched on July 8 in a grand wedding in Bhopal. It was an arranged wedding followed by two lavish receptions in Chandigarh and Mumbai respectively.
Sambhava Seth-Avinash Dwivedi: Former Sambhavna Seth also got hitched in July with her long-time beau Avinash Dwivedi a week after Divyanka's wedding. While they had elaborated wedding celebration with ceremonies like mehendi and sangeet, Sambhavna-Avinash too followed Divyanka-Vivek's footsteps and hosted two receptions in Mumbai and Delhi respectively.
Bobby Darling-Ramneek Sharma: Bobby Darling, who is a renowned face in Bollywood, entered the nuptial bond with her long-time boyfriend Ramneek Sharma on February 18. The couple got married in a private ceremony in Gayatri Temple situated in MP Nagar in Bhopal. Ramneek is a businessman who is 15 years younger than Bobby. Bobby even changed her name from Pankaj to Pakhi post her wedding.
Aman Verma – Vandana Lalwani: Aman Verma and Vandana Lalwani took the wedding vows this year on December 14. They were supposed to get married on April 20, but had to postpone the wedding due to sudden demise of Aman’s father. It was a low-key affair with wedding ceremonies spread over two days.
Yuvraj Singh-Hazel Keech: Ace cricketer Yuvraj Singh's wedding with actress Hazel Keech on November 30 was indeed a talk of the town. The couple got married as per Sikh and Hindu rituals given that the couple hails from different cultural backgrounds. Yuvraj and Hazel first got married in a gurudwara in Chandigarh, followed by a beach wedding as per Hindu rituals in Goa. They also hosted a grand, star-studded reception in the national captial.
Arunoday Singh-Lee Elton: Bollywood actor Arunoday Singh has got hitched with his long time girlfriend Lee Elton in his home time Bhopal on December 13. The couple took the vows as per traditional Hindu rituals in a grand ceremony and was attended by Singh's friends from the industry.
Kishwer Merchant-Suyyash Rai: Bigg Boss 9 couple Kishwer and Suyyash entered the nuptial bond on December 16 in Mumbai. The couple went for a simple court marriage, but later hosted a grand reception for their friends and colleagues. Interestingly, Kishwer's rakhi-brother Prince gifted the bride her bridal lehenga.
