Tom Hiddleston’s upcoming Marvel Loki series which is in production may have just gotten a whole lot more interesting. The production which will explore the fate of the God of Mischief after he escaped Thanos in future Avengers: Endgame by stealing the Tesseract and disappeared in the past will reportedly have a female Loki in it. A report by Deadline even states that Sophia Di Martino have joined the cast of the Loki series.
However, unlike Natalie Portman’s Thor who will arrive in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, female Loki, in the comics, isn't a separate character. Female Loki in fact will be Loki himself as a shapeshifter who has appeared numerous times in a female form.
In fact, the 2009’s The Mighty Avengers by Dan Scott and Christos Gage with art by Khoi Pham mentions the appearance of Loki as a female. this storyline, Loki was reborn as a woman and decided to play mischief to the heroes by posing as the Scarlet Witch, forming her own team of Avengers as part of the "Dark Reign" storyline. More recently, Marvel Press also published a novel by Mackenzi that portrays Loki as pansexual and gender-fluid.
Loki currently set to premiere on the Disney+ streaming service in Spring 2021.
