TV sensation, Ellen DeGeneres who has been entertaining celebrities and fans alike for over 12 years has confessed that she is considering quitting her hit talk show. According to an interview with The New York Times, the Finding Dory star admits that she is considering wife Portia De Rossi’s suggestion about quitting the show. The 60-year-old talk show star who had fronted 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' since 2003 had recently extended her contract up to the summer of 2020. She, however, stated that she is close to declining the settled contract as her wife had urged her to turn down the deal in order to do something else.
Portia said: "I just think she's such a brilliant actress and stand-up that it doesn't have to be this talk show for her creativity.
"There are other things she could tackle.
"I don't see the end of her show as her career ending."
Ellen's brother who is also a stand-up comic Vance DeGeneres, however, disagrees with Portia's advise insisting that she stay on, arguing the country needs her positive spread. The star admits that it was her brother who has been encouraging her to stay on as a positive force, but that doesn’t mean she won’t be considering wifey’s suggesting she’s and still considers pulling the pin.
Ellen told the New York Times newspaper: "[Portia] gets mad when my brother tells me I can't stop."
Ellen – who is one of the most loved stars in Hollywood circles agrees that she has the potential to be more, including doing ‘someone unappealing’ on screen. Maybe she is considering turning her table into acting? Only time will tell.
