Game of Thrones and fan theories, they never cease to amaze and give us a second thought. One such theory from the GOT fans is that of the shocking yet believable theory that Bran Stark is the Knight King himself. Fans have theorised that Bran’s transition into the Night King occurs when the Children of the Forest pierce a man’s heart with dragonglass, creating the first White Walker to protect them from mankind.
Isaac Hempstead-Wright aka Bran Stark told Radio Times, ‘’Whenever I post anything on Instagram I just have a barrage of comments going 'Night King! Hello Night King! You are Night King! Hello the Night King!'’.
The actor further added that be it the Knight King or Bran Stark, both characters are interesting in their own regard, he adds, ‘’I suppose Bran is quite an interesting character to theorise over because of his whole link to time travel and whatnot. Because you can kind of get away with anything theory-wise and make it sound convincing if you’ve got time travel involved."
"I mean it’s quite an interesting theory, the Night King one. I just think it seems a bit obvious. A bit cheesy’’ he adds.
And with that, can we all put to rest the theory that Bran Stark is the Knight King? To the answered origin of the White Walkers, we are hoping the true origins of the Night King will be revealed in the upcoming eighth season of Game of Thrones, which releases this 14 April.
