Game of Thrones: Did you know close aid of Khaleesi is half Indian?

New Delhi:

Game of Thrones garnered immense popularity in India and other South East Asian countries. Needless to say, the show also has an India connection. From Jon Snow’s pelt and armour to Danaerys’ white fur dress and King’s Landing’s soldier armour, all stuff are made in cloth making factories in Noida and Dehradun . Now the fans of the show have another reason to rejoice.

Although not a titular role but one of the prominent Dothraki soldier who was instrumental to Khaleesi claim to power was portrayed by an actor who is half Indian. Actor Staz Nair, who essayed the role of Dothraki 'Qhono' made public this connection on Instagram recently.

In his thank you note to the makers of Game of Thrones, Nair shared that he's grateful that the show allowed him to reconnect with Indian heritage. Nair also expressed gratitude towards the people of his hometown, Kerala.

A part of Nair's caption reads as "GOT also allowed me to reconnect with my Indian heritage, it’s such an honour to be a part of so much pride, the hometown (Kerala) support has been so humbling so Thankyou to all of my malayali/Indian people."

The actor also urged viewers, who haven't yet watched the final episode, to watch the episode. An overwhelmed Nair wrote. "From Womb to Tomb... THANKYOU @hbo and everyone involved. Can’t help but feel a little at a loss right now, I had just stopped living in a corridor when I booked @gameofthrones so it represents SUCH a transition in my life that I will always be so grateful for."
