Keanu Reeves will be seeing a change of universes if reports are to be true. After roping in Angelina Jolie and Richard Madden in Marvel’s ‘The Eternal’ cast, new reports suggest that negotiations with the John Wick actor is underway. Though there has been no confirmation just yet, it seems the 54-year-old actor is on a winning streak at the moment and we can tell why the biggest studios want him in their universe after his roles in The Matrix and the retired, ruthless hitman in the John Wick series.
Marvel producer Kevin Feige is already excited about The Eternals, as he sees a similar trajectory for it as another Marvel series.
‘’Your reaction about not being familiar with The Eternals is perfect, because most people weren’t familiar with Guardians [of the Galaxy] and believe it or not there were people that were not familiar with Avengers or with Iron Man.’’
‘’So for us, its finding great stories whether people have heard of them or not and bring them to the big screen in as amazing a ways as we can’’
The film is still relatively under wraps from the studio, though it is confirmed for release in 2020. It’s set to be directed by Chloé Zhao, and is rumoured to star Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden and Kumail Nanjiani.
‘’Eternals are one group, but we like the idea of introducing an ensemble, doing an ensemble movie from the start, as opposed to building up as we did with the first Avengers. More like Guardians, not tonally, but in terms of introducing a new group of people’’ Feige added.
Marvel has already announced release dates for eight new MCU films starting on May 1st, 2020 and going all the way through July 29th, 2022. The Eternals likely to be one, though still relatively under wraps from the studio is for 2020 release and will be directed by Chloé Zhao with casts such as star Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani and now Keanu Reeves?
