Streaming network Netflix has suspended "House of Cards" star Kevin Spacey as the studio behind the popular show, Media Rights Capital, investigates what it called "serious allegations" on the grounds of actor's behaviour on set.

The studio made the announcement on Friday after Netflix stated that it will not be involved in any production of “House of Cards” if the oscar-winning actor, who has been accused of inappropriate sexual behaviour, continues to work for the show.

Earlier this week, Netflix had already announced the suspension of show's sixth season following a Buzzfeed report that accused Spacey of assaulting actor Anthony Rapp in 1986 when the "Star Trek: Discovery" star was 14-years-old.

Spacey is currently seeking "self-evaluation and treatment" and has taken a break from acting.
