After breaking millions of hearts with the shutting down of the possible news of The Office Reunion, Steve Carrell is here to mend hearts.  On Tuesday, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Steve Carrell has confirmed his role as male lead in Apple's untitled morning show drama starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.

The still untiled show which is loosely to be based on Brian Stelter’s book Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV, will account the lives of the people who make morning television.

After wrapping up with the NBC comedy, The Office, in 2011 the drama with Resse and Aniston is likely to be a return to the small screen. According to the report, Carell is to play Mitch Kessler, a morning show anchor who is struggling to maintain relevance in a changing media landscape. 

Steve left “The Office,” the NBC single-camera comedy that elevated him to stardom in 2011. The new untitled drama was announced last year and is also said to be the first drama series to be ordered by Apple as the tech giant began to execute on its designs into the television-series space.

The drama is said to hail from Michael Ellenberg’s Media Res studio. With Aniston and Witherspoon as the principle owners of the show, the starry project had been a highly sought after by a number of outlets until the final announcing of Steve Carell as the main lead on Tuesday.

It is also said that the two actors Aniston and Witherspoon will co-executive produce the show which as of now have received a two-season and a 20-episode order. Production is set to begin next week here.

Steve was last seen in Felix Van Groeningen’s, Beautiful Boy, starring Timothee  Chalamet , a biographical drama about a father who watches his son grow while he battled with drug addiction.
