New Delhi:

Jon Favreau's The Lion King has been roaring at the box office even after receiving mixed response from critics. The movie according to many mastered photo-realistic animated feature but lacked much soul as it failed to bring out the ethos that its predecessor had in the 1994 Disney movie.

Recently the director shared a snapshot of the only "real" scene in his latest release It is the first scene of the film, depicting a sunrise photographed in Africa. Favreau took to Twitter to share the photograph of the rising sun.

"This is the only real shot in The Lion King. There are 1,490 rendered shots created by animators and CG artists. I slipped in a single shot that we actually photographed in Africa to see if anyone would notice," Favreau captioned the image.

He added, "It is the first shot of the movie that begins (the song) The circle of life."

The Lion King, Walt Disney Co's latest remake of its own beloved animated films, shows off advanced techniques that blend virtual reality, live action and digital imagery to bring a hyper-real feel to the animals and African settings so much so that one will confuse if the animals are for real or just animated.

“The Lion King” tells the story of a lion cub named Simba, and his battle claim the throne of the Pride Land, an idyllic swath of African savannah where all the animals live together in relative harmony.
