Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig and Charles Melton are among the newest crew for the long-awaited crime sequel, Bad Boys starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. A month after actor Will Smith and Martin Lawrence confirmed the much-awaited news on social media with both the stars taking to social media to post their confirmation, the Bad Boys for life now have a more interesting addition to their crew. Lawrence on his Instagram handle had then written “It’s official!” Bad Boys for Life. #teammartymar #badboysforlife@willsmith#weback”. While Smith also posted an exuberant video the next day with his co-star, exclaiming, “Bad Boys 3 is happening!”
The Bad Boys newest addition will see The High School Musical star, Venessa Hudgens and The Vikings star, Alexander Ludwig among the casting. Last month both Lawrence and Smith on Instagram with the caption, “It’s official!” Bad Boys for Life. #teammartymar #badboysforlife@willsmith#weback”. The next day, Smith also posted an exuberant video with his co-star, exclaiming, “Bad Boys 3 is happening!”

Earlier news have it that Sony announced that Bad Boys 3 will happen but in 2020, although fans weren’t sure until the stars themselves confirmed it. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who directed Black and Gangsta, will be directing the sequel in place of Michael Bay. Taking to Instagram, Smith and Lawrence unleashed their infectious chemistry to confirm the announcement together.
Peter Craig has penned the script with Joe Carnahan doing a rewrite. Chris Bremmer is the current writer. While Joe Pantoliano will also be on board to return as Captain Howard. While Smith and Lawrence will play their quintessential cop-roles, Hudgens, Ludwig, and Melton will play a modern, highly specialised police unit that collides with the old school Bad Boys when a new threat emerges in Miami.

The production of the Bad Boys sequel which will be Bad Boys for Life in the next sequel is set to start sometime next month and the film is slated for theatrical release January 17, 2020. Jerry Bruckheimer returns as producer. Doug Belgrad will also produce, as will Smith. Barry Waldman, Mike Stenson, Chad Oman, and James Lassiter are executive producers.
