Washington:

Lead stars of the blockbuster film ‘ Fifty Shades of Grey,’ Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan were paid only 250,000 dollars each (plus tiered box-office bonuses), it has been revealed.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, sources said both the actors had signed three-picture deals for trilogy based on erotic novels by EL James, but now, would be looking to re-negotiate for a seven-figure raises for the rest of Universal’s franchise, ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ and ‘Fifty Shades Freed.’

Neither Johnson, 25, nor Dornan, 32, received any backend compensation on the first film, which has grossed over 550 million dollars worldwide claim the insiders.

Since Universal chair Donna Langley is already looking for new director and writer after Sam Taylor-Johnson and scribe Kelly Marcel’s exit, she would not want the lead stars to be unhappy or either of them asking out of their contract.

The sequel is anticipated to begin shooting in early 2016 for a 2017 release, possibly around Valentine’s Day again.
