New Delhi :

Despite making loads of history with many ‘firsts’, Oscars 2020 only drew an average viewership of 23.6 million, the lowest in movie’s biggest night history. Eric Trump now thinks the reason behind the stooping viewership is because of 'smug elitist' like Brad Pitt. Singling out Pitt for his Oscar speech that took a jibe at Donald Trump’s Impeachment Trial, Eric posted a pic of the Oscar winning actor blaming the star for the dwindling viewership with a caption,

‘Oscars ratings fall 25 per cent to all-time low. “Probably because Americans don’t like to be preached to by smug elitists.

“The elegance has been lost and America has tuned these people out of their homes…”

As for Brad Pitt’s political Oscar speech while accepting the statuette for Best Supporting actor in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, the actor vocalised,

"They told me I only have 45 seconds up here, which is 45 seconds more than the Senate gave John Bolton this week,". For the uninitiated, Trump was recently acquitted by the US Senate during the impeachment trial. Democrats had wanted Bolton to testify after the former National Security Advisor announced he would be willing to if subpoenaed.

"I'm thinking Quentin does a movie about it," Pitt continued, referring to his "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" director Quentin Tarantino. "And in the end, the adults do the right thing," Pitt said as the Crème de la crème of Hollywood applauded.

Dedicating the award to his children, the 90’s heartthrob also mentioned his best friend Leonardo DiCaprio. "I loved the ethos of Cliff Booth. Look for the best in people, expect the worst but look for the best. Leo, I will ride on your coattails any day man," Pitt said in his acceptance speech. This is the first acting Oscars for Bitt. However, he has won the Academy Award as a producer for best picture winner ‘12 Years a Slave’ in 2014.
