Robert Pattinson’s first look as the Gotham vigilante in Matt Reeves’ The Batman is here. Sharing a short snippet of The Batman haunted by ominous score against a red background on Twitter, the video slowly unveils Pattinson in his dark cape with the famous batmark on his chest. While the short video does appear dark, much of the plots of the movie has been kept under wraps.

Audiences were given glimpses of the shoot however, when passer-bys were treated to a good show as Gotham Police cars and a van for fictional news channel Gotham Action News lined the streets, ready to shoot scenes for the movie which was shared on social media.

As for Pattinson stepping into the role of the Gotham vigilante, The Lighthouse star told Variety last September how massive a fan he was of Tim Burton’s 1989 and 1992 “Batman” movies. Hence, when he heard about the talks that Reeves is remaking a movie of Batman, Pattinson didn’t hesitate to give it a shot,
“I’d had Batman in my mind for a while,” Pattinson said. “It’s such an absurd thing to say. I sort of had an idea to do it, and I’d been prodding Matt. He didn’t accept any prods. I kept asking to meet him.”
“I remember saying to Matt, ‘It does feel quite transformative!'” the actor said. “He was like, ‘I would hope it does! You’re literally in the Batsuit.'’
“You do feel very powerful immediately,” Pattinson continued. “And it’s pretty astonishing, something that is incredibly difficult to get into, so the ritual of getting into it is pretty humiliating. You’ve got five people trying to shove you into something. Once you’ve got it on, it’s like, ‘Yeah, I feel strong, I feel tough, even though I had to have someone squeezing my butt cheeks into the legs.'”
Robert Pattinson will be joined by Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, Paul Dano the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth.
