New Delhi:

Game of Thrones prequel which was supposedly looking hopeful to pick up from the debacle left behind by the last season of Game of Thrones series is not longer happening! According to Deadline reports, the George R. R. Martin work which HBO details as, ‘“Taking place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour’’ will no longer be happening.

While no official confirmation was made by HBO as of yet, Deadline report states that the showrunner Jane Goldman, a producer and writer best known for writing Kingsman (2014) and The Woman in Black (2012), has announced to the show’s cast and crew that the series, which was rumored to have been called Bloodmoon Or The Long Night’ has been axed.

The prequel was commissioned by HBO in June 2018, with Jane Goldman as its showrunner was set to take place thousands of years ago and promised to show ‘’the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend, only one thing is for sure: It’s not the story we think we know’’.

George RR Martin, the author of the A Song of Ice and Fire book series, on which Game of Thrones is based, was working with Goldman as the prequel’s co-creator.

Bloodmoon was scheduled to premiere in 2020.
