Studio bosses have announced that the blockbuster sequel of Will Smith starrer 'Independence Day' will release on July 3, 2015. Twentieth Century Fox said that the sequel of the 1996 film will finally happen after a gap of 19 years, reported a daily.
The sequel will again see Roland Emmerich on the director's chair but none of the original cast has been announced yet. The filmmakers had been struggling for years to get the sequel financed despite the fact that the first movie fetched a whopping USD 817.4 million.
Emmerich, 57, is currently all set to release his upcoming action-thriller 'White House Down' starring Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx in lead roles.
