Linda Hamilton Didn't Want To Work With ‘Austrian Oak’ Arnold Schwarzenegger In 1984 ‘Terminator’

While Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton may now be the bestest of buddies in Hollywood, Hamilton admits that she did not want to work with the Austrian Oak in 1984 Terminator movie. Appearing on the Graham Norton show for their latest Terminator: Dark Fate, Hamilton telling Norton on she felt working with “the Austrian Oak,” then says “Yeah, not at all,”. 

 “Only because I was a snotty New York actress, you know? You move from New York, you’re training with Lee Strasberg and ‘you can’t go to LA, it’ll ruin you. You can’t do LA movies, they suck.’ I mean, New York is tough’’ Hamilton adds.

With her reservations on working with Arnie, Hamilton recalls that producers began throwing around the idea of Schwarzenegger for the role of the T-800 after his Conan the Barbarian role until Linda herself decided to give in,

“People are very excited, and I was like, ‘I don’t know,’” Hamilton recalled. “‘I’m going to see for myself.’ I actually went to set to see him on set’’.

As for the two veteran actor who once again returned to the Terminator franchise, Linda made sure that Dark fate would be the end of her badass Sarah Connor role telling "I've been threatening to fake my own death so I wouldn't have to do the next one if there is one. It really was hard, it was the hardest and the greatest I've ever done. It was so hard making this god damn movie."

"I was worried too. I just wanted to let the film have the same impact. I didn't see [the return] coming ever... It never occurred to me that we'd be coming back and that I'd get to do this again’’ she added.

Dark Fate which sees the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger as T-800, Hamilton as Sarah Connor in addition to new faces like Gabriel Luna, Mackenzie Davis releases this November 1.
