Netflix is all set to fill for the void that the final season of Game of Thrones has created after it was last aired in May with its upcoming fantasy series The Witcher that has its fair share of gore, black magic, fight sequences, supernatural elements and nail bitting moments of political turmoil.

The first stylish trailer of the series was dropped by the OTT platform at the San Diego Comic-Con 2019

The show is based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s adored novel of the same name. There's also a series of board games and even a trading card game that all incorporate Sapkowski’s original stories to some extent.

Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

The trailer starts with the story of elves teaching humans how to turn chaos to magic and then human killing elves to end competition. The glimpses of blood splattered on snow in a definite pattern and a woman looking at past reminds us much of Game of Thrones.

Henry Cavill (Superman in the DC Cinematic Universe films) is playing the central character, Geralt of Rivia, Henry Cavill (Superman in the DC Cinematic Universe films) would play the central character, Geralt of Rivia the series has been helmed by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.

Filming for TheWitchers took place in Hungary, Gran Canaria and the islands of La Palma and La Gomera.

The Witcher trailer is Netflix's attempt to get back its lost subscribers and also gain new owns. As per reports, 130,000 users unsubscribed from Netflix in the United States from April through June.
