They have starred in some of Hollywood’s greatest movies like Heat, Godfather II, but Robert de Niro says that he also regrets the one movie he did with Al Pacino. Sitting down with Variety, Niro who will yet be seen in another humongous gangster movie with Pacino reveals that he regrets starring in the 2008 film, Righteous Kill, a police thriller in which De Niro played Detective Thomas opposite Al Pacino and was a dunk both at the box office and critics.

Recalling the time when he when he and Pacino were greeted by hundreds of excitable fans in Rome during the premiere of Righteous Kill , de Niro told the entertainment magazine, “I said: ‘This is a great reaction, but it would be nice if they were here for a movie that we really feel proud about. Next time we’ll do one we like,'” De Niro recalled of the moment.

Well, it looks like the duo are all set to erase ‘Righteous Kill’ from the memories of movie lovers with Martin Scorsese’s upcoming gangster epic The Irishman. Based on the book I Heard You Paint Houses by Charles Brandt, which tells the true-crime story of Frank ‘The Irishman’ Sheeran, a self-confessed hitman for a mob. The Netflix film will be shown in selected UK cinemas on November 8 before reaching Netflix on November 27.
