New Delhi:

Spider Man won’t be swinging by the neighbourhood any time soon because Sony CEO Tony Vinciquerra has confirmed that doors for future MCU Spider Man movies has been shut as of now. "For the moment the door is closed," Sony Pictures chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra said at Variety’s Entertainment & Technology summit on Thursday.

The excruciating blow to Spider Man fans came weeks after Marvel and Sony failed to come to an agreement to renew the previous deal  which is said to give Marvel five percent of gross box-office revenue. The deal however came to halt with Spider-Man: Far From Home which was a massive success for Sony, raking $1 billion at the box office to become its highest grossing movie of all time.

Disney, which owns the Kevin Feige-led Marvel Studios, had demanded that it wanted to split future Spider-Man movies in a 50/50 co-financing arrangement, that also meant a 50/50 split in the profits against the previous five percent of gross box-office revenue which Sony disagreed hence the end of possible future Spider-Man movies by MCU.

Despite failing tome come to an agreement between the two studios, Vinciquerra maintains that there's "no ill will" between Sony and Marvel.

"We had a great run with [Feige] on Spider-Man movies," Vinciquerra said. "We tried to see if there's a way to work it out … the Marvel people are terrific people, we have great respect for them, but on the other hand we have some pretty terrific people of our own.

"Kevin didn't do all the work."

While MCU’s Spider Man movies has been crossed out you can now await Sony Produced Spider man movies such as the upcoming Tom Hardy Starrer Venom 2, a Morbius film starring Jared Leto, and "five or six" shows based on the Spider-Man world.
