Rise of Skywalker’ Director J.J. Abrams Says Baby Yoda Will Not Appear in Film

Baby Yoda may have won the heart of every Star Wars fans with a one second cameo in The Mandalorian, but director J.J Abrams confirmed to Variety that Baby Yoda will not make an appearance in the last sequel of the Star Wars movie. “Baby Yoda is not in the movie,” 53-year-old filmmaker confirmed the news to Variety during the film’s premiere in Los Angeles Monday.

When asked how he felt when he first saw the character on the series, also known as ‘The Child’, Abrams said he thought Baby Yoda was “cutest thing in the history of time.”

“How can you deny Baby Yoda?” he continued of the character’s adorable appearance. “You can’t.”

As for the ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’, the movie which premiers in India on December 20 has been called an ‘everything’ movie to the Star Wars saga by first reviewers.

Erik Davis called it ‘Epic’. Writing on Twitter he wrote, ‘’Epic. All of it. #TheRiseofSkywalker is a terrific finale that is just stuffed with so much of everything. Action, adventure — answers!! — humor, heart, love, and grit. I spent the entire second half with tears in my eyes - a wonderful way to end the Skywalker story’’.

Rob Keyes also called it ‘immensely satisfying’, writing on Twitter Just stepped out of #TheRiseofSkywalker. It’s an immensely satisfying and MASSIVE end to the saga. It somehow addresses issues, problematic characters, and most unanswered questions from The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi too.
