After J.K Ben McKenzie, Gary Oldman among many others, the role of the noble Gotham commissioner has been handed over to Jeffrey Wright. As he had done previously with the big news, director Matt Reeves took to Twitter with a Jeffrey Wright GIF to announce that Wright has been confirmed to play Commissioner Gordon in The Batman.
The talks about Jeffery Wright recruiting as Gotham commissioner has been making rounds since last month and it finally looks like the deal has been sealed with a GIF. The Westworld star will be joining Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, and Paul Dano as the Riddler.
“The Batman will explore a detective case — when people start dying in strange ways, Batman must go deep into the dark world of Gotham to find clues and solve the mystery/conspiracy connected to Gotham City’s history and criminals,” reads reported plot details that surfaced over the summer. “In the film, all of Batman’s Rogues Gallery are already out there and active, similar to the comics and animated shows/movies. The film will have multiple villains, as they are all suspects.”
The Batman will be released in theaters on June 25, 2021.
