Amid several controversies, Nikhil Advani’s directorial venture ‘Batla House’ finally releases on this Independence Day. John Abraham’s intense look as the police officer will leave a powerful impact on the audience. The movie was recently in headlines as its release date was hanging in balance and fans were eagerly waiting for the flick.

Now, let us talk about the story of ‘Batla House’ which revolves around the investigation of 2008 Delhi serial blasts. Two officers of Delhi Police special cell KK (played by Ravi Kishan) and Sanjeev Kumar (played by John Abraham) reaches third floor House No L-18 in Batla House where police officers enter in an encounter with suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorists.

Two suspected terrorists get killed in the encounter whereas one police officer gets injured and KK (Ravi Kishan) dies in the incident. One of the suspects escapes the encounter and the incident sparks political scuffle and blame game among the political parties.

Several political parties and Human Rights bodies alleges Sanjeev Kumar Yadav (played by John Abraham) and team for killing innocent students in ‘Fake encounter’.

Due to this, Sanjeev Kumar faces political pressure along with inter-departmental politics and also suffers traumatic disorder after the incident.

However, Sanjeev’s wife Nandita Kumar (played by Mrunal Thakur) stand by him. So, can multiple gallantry award winner and honest police officer be able to prove his innocence? For that you need to watch the movie.

The makers of the film has nowhere tried to glorify police department and used real footage of Digvijaya Singh, Arvind Kejriwal, Amar Singh and LK Advani in the flick.

Cinematography by Soumik Mukherjee is quite good in the film and the director has given his best shot in keeping the movie as realistic as possible.

John Abraham as Sanjeev Kumar Yadav may be called as his best performance till date as he portrayed the officer’s helplessness and bravery against the system quite well.

Mrunal as Nandita and Ravi Kishan as KK will leave good impact on the audience with their roles.

Rajesh Kumar, Manish Choudhary, Alok Pandey, Sahidur Rahman and Kranti Prakash Jha also play an important role as supporting casts in the flick.

On music front, song ‘Saki’ is already a chartbuster since its release. The song is sung by Neha Kakkar, Tulsi Kumar and B Praak. Overall, the movie will be a great treat for August 15 (Independence Day) and News Nation gives it 3 out of five stars.
