Another song that recently hit the YouTube and has been trending at the video sharing platform for its sizzling dance number by Jacqueline Fernadez and rap king Badshah's tunes has got under the fire over allegations of plagiarism and violating Copyright Amendement Act 2012.
The song name that sounds synonymous to AR Rahman's spopular track in Delhi 6 sounds nothing like it. On the contrary all its signature lines , leaving aside the raps,are a word to word copy of a popular Bengali folk track, 'Boroloker Beti Lo Lomba Lomba Chul' every kid in Bengal has grown up hearing.
If not taking the lines was an offence enough, the song also doesnot give credit to the original writer of the Bengali folk making netizens slam the Punjabi singer on plagiarism charges. The Bengali folk song which was originally written by Ratan Kahar was not credited in the music video which has violated the Indian Copyright Amendment Act 2012.

Nevertheless, Ratan Kahar's song was adapted by Swapna Chakaraborty back in 1976 and then the lyrice made its place ina a lot of Bengali films and music creaditing the one who adapted it.
Meanwhile, a raged folk song fan, Arghya Bose, a Doctoral researcher in France by profession brought to the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee notice the 'exploitation of artists' happening in the state by corporates. "In the capacity of a common but responsible citizen of your state, Madam Chief Minister, I feel obliged and responsible to bring to your notice an exploitation of the poor artists of the state of West Bengal at this level by apparently world renowned artists. It is, indeed, the moral responsibility of the entire population of the state, and more so, the government of the state to protect the interests of the artistic communities of our country." said his letter.
He added, "Your government has always shown sensitivity, empathy and appreciativeness to the rich intellectual and cultural diversity of Bengal, which has been one of the many foundations of the popularity of your government. I write this mail to you hoping that you will be able to act in favour of Mr. Kahar in this regard, and obtain for him the intellectual and material remuneration that is due to him."
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap too has retweeted a netizen who claimed that the folk artist who actually composed the song doesnot have enough money to sue Badshah but the 'truth' should spread through social media.Â

GENDA PHOOL is RATAN KAHAR's song from the 70s & is extremely popular amongst Bengalis.
Sadly he doesn't have the money to sue Badshah who claims that the lyrics/music is by him.
