Beyoncé, who was presented with GLAAD's Vanguard Award, 2019 got all emotional on Thursday night while showing support for the LGBT community. Taking a significant stand for acceptance and support of LGBTQIA people of colour, Beyoncé paid an emotional tribute to her late Uncle Johnny who died of HIV. Getting all teary while accepting the honour with husband Jay Z, the Lemonade singer says, "the most fabulous gay man I have ever known,”.

"We're here to promote love for every human being," said Beyonce, taking the stage at the GLAAD Media Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel with Jay Z. "And change starts with supporting the people closest to you. So let's tell them they are loved. Let's remind them they are beautiful. Let's speak out and protect them. And parents, let's love our kids in their truest form."

The pop star also adds that her uncle help raise both her and sister Solange Knowles, "He lived his truth. He was brave and unapologetic during a time when this country wasn't as accepting. And witnessing his battle with HIV was one of the most painful experiences I have ever lived’’. "I'm hopeful that his struggle served to open pathways for other people to live more freely’’ she adds in an emotional speech.

Earlier this week, Beyonce also stole the spotlight as she serenaded the music icon, Diana Ross with a ‘Happy Birthday’ song on her 75th birthday.
