Bohemian Rhapsody star Rami Malek finally confirms his relationship with the Freddie Mercury biopic co-star Lucy Boynton. While receiving the Breakthrough Artist Award at the 30th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival’s Film Awards Gala on Thursday, January 3, the Golden Globe nominee took the opportunity to gush out his feelings for his rumoured lady-love. Receiving the acceptance speech, Malek called Lucy, ‘my love’. Starting off his acceptance speech, Malek said, “I’m just really honored to be here, so thank you to the Palm Springs Film Festival. It’s a privilege, it’s not lost on me and I’m so appreciative,”, Malek ended with the sweetest way possible. He said, “You have been my ally, my confidant, my love. Thank you so much.”
While Malek maybe just confirming their relationship now, the duo had long shown fans the signs of their romance. In fact, the couple hasn’t shied away from their feelings for each other. In August of last year, the two were spotted on a lunch date in Los Angeles while walking arm-in-arm. They were also seen together in May at a U2 concert in Los Angeles.
Malek and Boynton star together in the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, which chronicles Queen from 1970, when Mercury teamed with Brian May and Roger Taylor, until the band's performance at Live Aid in 1985, six years before the singer died of complications from AIDS.
Boynton stars as Mercury's lover and muse, Mary Austin, who was the inspiration behind the singer's 1975 hit song Love of My Life. The biopic film based on the legendary rock icon, Freddie mercury starred by Rami Malek has been crowned the highest-grossing biopic of all time earning a whopping $609.7 million globally since its November 2 release.
