Michael Jackson’s documentary Leaving Neverland, which premiered Sunday on HBO focused on accounts from two of the singer’s accusers has generated an array of emotions for viewers. Since HBO announced its ‘talk’ to make a documentary on the Late King of Pop, fans of the MJ have been left divided. Allegations, lawsuits, defamation and likewise, the documentary surrounding the two alleged sexual victims, Wade Robson and James Safechuck, have been a very nasty affair.

Despite Michael Jackson’s estate slapping a $100 million lawsuit for defamation HBO had announced that they will air the documentary despite the suit. On Sunday, HBO aired the first half that detailed the experiences from the alleged victims, including perspectives from relatives who knew Jackson at the time and described him as a harmless, childish pop star, and this divided say is starting a Twitter war.

Robson and Safechuck, who were separately brought into Jackson’s inner circle as children in Neverland alleges that the pop star introduced them to kissing, pornography, masturbation, oral sex and more while they were kids. They added that only in their 30s did they realise that their alleged respective experiences with Jackson amounted to assault.

Following this shell-shocking claims from the duo, the audiences have been left divided to the extreme. While many including activists and celebrities, tweeted their support for the alleged victims, many others have also rushed to MJ’s defence. Corey Feldman who had spent time with Michael Jackson when he was a child actor rushed to defending the late King of Pop against the devastating sexual abuse allegations in Leaving Neverland stating that Jackson “never touched me inappropriately.”

‘’NEVER ONCE SWORE IN MY PRESENCE, NEVER TOUCHED ME INAPPROPRIATELY, & NEVER EVER SUGGESTED WE SHOULD BE LOVERS IN ANY WAY! I FEEL LIKE IF PPL COULD HEAR OUR CONVOS THEY WOULD HEAR THE INNOCENCE IN THEM. NO HINT OF PERVERSION. I HAV A TAPE, IM THINKIN ABOUT RELEASING, WHICH COULD’’, he tweeted.

Other viewers are also more critical of the documentary and its subjects sing hashtags such as #MJInnocent and #MuteHBO to express their displeasure.
