Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is making his directorial debut with fantasy film titled 'Barroz'. The actor revealed that an international cast is on board and that include Spanish actors Paz Vega and Rafael Amargo.
Raphael and Paz are expected to play Vasco da Gama and his wife, respectively. Paz Vega is known for appearing in the Jeremy Renner film, Kill The Messenger, and the Adam Sandler comedy, Spanglish.

Vega’s big break came in the form the long-running and beloved Spanish sitcom “7 Vidas.” (“7 Lives) The series was billed as the Spanish version of the American hit sitcom “Friends.”
The actress is often compared to fellow Spanish bombshell Penelope Cruz, but Vega has said that while she feels “honored” to be compared to Cruz she is her own person. In May 2011, Vega replaced Penélope Cruz as the face for L'Oreal Spain.

In a Facebook page, Mohanlal posted a video where he talked about his directorial venture, Barroz. “It is a fantasy film for children. Barroz is set against the backdrop of the maritime history of Portugal, Spain, Africa, and India. It is indeed a story of our shared heritage.” said the actor
As per reports, the movie is all set to be shot in Goa. Announcement regarding the same was done on Mohanlal's blog where he wrote, “To become as a director was not a conscious decision I took, just as it wasn’t to be an actor. But I have been acting for the last forty years and now my life is taking a new turn, as I am moving behind the camera from in front of it.”
