In a rather shocking incident, a crazy fan of KGF star Yash committed suicide by setting himself on fire as he was unable to wish the actor on his birthday. According to a report in News 18, the man was identified as Ravi, who hailed from Dasarahalli. He was outside Yash’s home at Hoskerehalli, but was extremely disappointed when he found out that the actor was not in town. He then doused himself with petrol and set himself on fire.
The reports further state that Ravi was taken to Victoria hospital by the security personnels outside Yash’s home but he soon succumbed to his injuries. Doctors at the hospital stated that Ravi had sustained 80% burns. After learning about the incident, Yash rushed to the hospital to meet Ravi. He told the reporters, "I do not want fans like this, this is not fandom or love, this does not bring me happiness. I will not come to see anybody else like this again, it will give the wrong message to fans who think that I will come and meet them (if they take drastic steps like this)."
Ravi’s father was shocked and wasn’t sure Ravi took such a drastic step."Ravi goes every year to meet Yash. Last year he had taken us to his house as well. This year, we had told him not to go, but he persisted. Do not know where Ravi got the petrol from," he said.
According to a report in The News Minute, Dr KT Ramesh, HOD of burns ward had told the media that even while on oxygen support all Ravi could talk about was Yash. His last words were, "When we were dressing his wounds, Ravi asked the doctors whether Yash would come to see him, now that he was struggling between life and death."
Yash had earlier sent out a message to his fans, informing them that he wouldn't be celebrating his birthday this year as he was mourning the death of Rebel star Ambareesh.
